Hall Of Honor Nomination Requirements

 

Nominate a former UNM athlete, coach, official, athletic administrator, group, team or outstanding civic contributor for the UNM Athletic Hall of Honor.

Supporting documentation is essential and should include:

1)    A combined resume of the nominee’s educational, athletic,

Professional, and civic background;

2)    An official letter of nomination, with any desired

Endorsements attached;

3)    Copies of news articles, certificates of award, letters of

Commendation, news, photos, etc;

4)    A summary of publications authored (if applicable); and

5)    Any special awards, honors, or extraordinary achievements attained.

 

For guidance in submitting your nominations, Hall of Honor inductees must have:

         

1)    Achieved extraordinary distinction and achievement;

2)    Brought lasting fame and honor to UNM, or have made outstanding athletic contributions to the University of New Mexico;

3)    Attained public recognition of their exploits;

4)    Merited special honor;

5)    By their character and respectability, serve as an inspiration and example of the highest traditions of the university.

 

In addition to their athletic prominence, emphasis is placed on professional achievement, civic contributions, and exemplary citizenship.

The Hall of Honor Award Ceremony and Banquet is scheduled in the fall of each year.
